We spent an hour there and collected a trash bag (the large industrial type) each of trash (mostly plastic bags and styrofoam bits) and recyclables.

Anyone heard anything about E85? It's a mixture of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline (with a 105 octane rating - same stuff that burns out certain fuel injectors, if I remember correctly). But, the few stations that do currently carry this stuff are currently selling it in the DC metro are for <$2.50/gallon.

Honda i'nt on this list . . .

Neither is Volkswagon.

And, here I was thinking that Honda was such a forward thinking automotive company. I guess it doesn't get any simpler than 'No!'

What can I do about it?

Since H and I work less than 3 miles from each other, we're experimenting with carpooling. But I was thinking more in terms of bicycling to work. Here're the stats:

Averge miles/gallon: 30
current $/gallon: $2.71 (and rising)
distance between work and home: 11.87 miles (23.74 roundtrip daily - cake!)

hmmmm. . . whether carpooling or bicycling I could save a yearly total of $559.64 just in (current) fuel costs.

Who do I send my proposal to in Hospice who can approve a bicycle-friendly dress code?
