That's beat, sorry to to miss him. Pops took the couch up with him when he went west this morning. I'll be crashing there tonight (I think) and we'll bring the couch and the ladder to 1006 tomorrow morning.
Various old kitchen gadgets at Joseph's Coat:
decent knife set in wood block - $22
wine dispenser - $22
stainless 16 qt. cook pot w/lid - $12 (brewers!)
1940's aluminum hand press (juicer)- $8 acquired
various complete sets of glasses, dishes, rolling pins, etc.
Consider places like this when we come across needs to run a decent household.
(We'll have to do some cooking-with-beer before Sunday; we never did finish that growler we got, and it's kind of important to this whole bottling effort, I think. We have just over 1 and 3/4 cases' worth of bottles, including those you left, so we might not be able to bottle the ginger-hooch without the growler! On the bright side, I totally bought food-for-beer-cooking!)
there was an awesome thrift store up in PA that I got my current little plates and most of my non-plated silverware at. we need a toaster oven at the new place, or just a toaster at the old, as I notice that no one but me and Kieran really uses the toaster oven.
We might stop at the big flea market in the a.m. before going to md. or hit it on sunday. or something.
so where are you crashing? at browntown? rick will still be here tonight.. but he's thinking about leaving early now.
I'm going to meet up with DB in Herndon for drinks and supper and will probably just go straight from there to B-town. That frees Rick up. I'll help pop move everything tomorrow.
