the "no computers" extends to the entire second floor as well. but be aware that with laptops, it's really not that big a problem to plug them in wherever you want. just make sure you don't leave them plugged in there (charge them in the front room or the addition).

and for the time being, it's prolly a good idea to try and adhere to that childhood practice we had (at least helen and i) of unplugging tv's during thunderstorms. basically, for all the rooms that say "no computers," a surge protector will not function properly if it does get hit by a surge.

I didn't get much of any advice concerning electricity as a kid, other than maybe, "bet you don't stick your finger in that again!" Otherwise, my personal experience with electricity comes with a tin foil hat - I don't want anything plugged in but the fridge.
