Perception IS everything!
Oct. 20th, 2005 12:20 am"If a tree falls in a forest and there's no one around to hear, does it make a sound?"
deviathan: Yeah, the sound of your honeybear insisting that sentence needs a comma."> Thwump! Logic dictates that if the falling tree pushes air out of its way and causes it to vibrate then, yes, there would naturally be a Santa Claus. . . No, a sound! (not Santa Claus) But, only recently have I come to the . . . conclusion that if there is no one around to hear the tree fall then the tree does not make a sound. If there is no one (nothing) around to hear then there is no tree . . . there is no forest and there never will be until some one comes along to perceive it as such.
