Hear Mike Babble!

Voice over IP is a beautiful thing, indeed! Only giving Mike my work number the day he asked for my updated cell number was a stroke of sheer genius on my part - this fuck just doesn't give up, just won't go away. But now, rather than sitting through 15 minutes of him babble on and on and on about how fucked up Scotty and Mrs. Lebowski are (and what I should and shouldn't be doing about it) or alternately deleting his messages forthright and unheard I simply point, right-click and save as . . . and voila! Every 70meg's or so, burn a copy to CD of "Mr. P's Stupidest Hits" (volumes I thru ∞, at this rate) and send it to him in the mail - for Christmas, maybe!

(Phone's ringin', dude!)

Too bad I can't see Mike mind his own fuggin' bud'ness!

I might not be able to stop him (legally, anyway . . .heh heh!) But damned if I can't contain him.

At some point grown-ups all over the world come to the realization that if they can't exercise simple self-conrol (which, Mike obviously can't) and learn to work together toward a comfortable medium then there will always be a governing body that is more than happy to impose some form of external control structure for them; usually in the form of prohibitive regulations and invasive technology. Not making an active choice is still choosing.

For once, technology's on my side - this captures all the meta: date/time stamp, duration, frequency, point of origin, etc. etc. and so on - making it very, very easy for me to establish a clear pattern of abuse. Luckily for him I actually like the guy despite how often he annoys me. Like I told [livejournal.com profile] lotusmantra this is very likely to end up on the internet somewhere, like the Ravings of Raleigh; only with Mike it's mostly just pathetic and boring without any of the context.
