I finally managed to cull all the bits of my home computer together after the move, and now that I have access to my editting tools I've decided that I don't have enough pictures on my journal.

I've lived in this house for over 30 years and I've seen water get pretty high, but not like this

Flash flooding, frontyard facing south

Facing south. Although it's not apparent from the picture there is actually a storm drain, completely submerged, in the corner of the yard (upper left quadrant of this photo, at the end of the sidewalk). There is also one just outside the left hand edge of the picture which drains into a creek directly across the street from the house.

Flash flooding, frontyard facing southwest

Taken frm the same point as the last, this picture points a few degrees west.

Flash flooding, frontyard facing west

I'm standing up-stream from the last pics, above the submerged storm drain (under all the brown water, roughly a foot deep) to take this picture - facing west.

Flash flooding, backyard facing southeast

Taken from the backyard, facing southeast. Behind those bushes on the right of the picture there is another submerged storm drain, upstream from the other two. This one normally drains just about the entire half acre lot, but on this occasion I believe it's so over capacity that it's actually channelling more water from much further upstream into the yard.

I'm just glad very little got into the house.
