The South has risen again . . .
Apr. 4th, 2005 07:38 amNot in the sense, though, of slavery which has now been privatized and available to every citizen, black, white, or whatever, willing to carry a balance on their credit card. Also not in the sense of the resurgence in aristocracy brought to us in the form of the Bush crime cartel's brand of corporatism (although these may be the more insidious vehicles of such). Through the simple, garden variety forces of cultural attrition Dixie is slowly colonizing the northern Atlantic states one gun rack-laden SUV (the pick-up truck of the 21st century) at a time. So we're re-naming the states accordingly:
• Delabama (heh heh, the 1st state. Also, Wilmington - credit card capital of the east, rivalled only in the entire U.S. by Rapid City, SD. Hmmmmmmmm)
• Pennsyltucky
• New Jersiana (no one's safe!)
and, as of yesterday and thanks to
majormagik we've added
• New Yorkolina! to our little confederacy.
My question is who's next?
Manasachusetts or Connectinooga?

Massatexas, however. . .
Hee-yulck!

Date: 2005-04-04 05:45 pm (UTC)Don't forget that you can use North and South on -olina, and in fact, I'd argue for at least North versions on all the existing states. North Texas (formerly Canada) and South Texas (Formerly Mexico) are obvious and somehow make up for the last of creativity in re-using the name entirely.
North Yorkolina would possibly be the former Connecticut?
