Hospice is switching our email client from GroupWise to (you guessed it) MicroSoft Outlook. Someone from the IT dept. came around to take screen shots of everyones' individual setup, but when they got to mine they found that I have, in lieu of a mouse, a stylus and tablet. Like most, the IT folks can't operate these things either (it takes a certain amount of getting used to, but once you do you tend to want throw the mouse to the cat and get on!) She fumbled with it for a couple of seconds before turning it back over to me, 'Here, you drive!' She instructed me step-by-step through the process of moving some files around and taking various screenshots of my current work environment and saving that to a word document and printing it. When after that was completed she mentioned how empressive it was to see someone so efficient and adept with keyboard short-cut commands, much less using them at all. I couldn't help but to make certain she knew that, not only do I use them in general, I have every function that I use the Raiser's Edge for memorized in terms of keyboard short-cuts. I realize this is nothing for most folks who get to work with real technology, but around here, that's geek!
