[livejournal.com profile] _kevinski_, you and I need to be friends(?) . . .

'cause you're laid back and smart and we get along, etc. etc. - left on my voicemail at work again this morning. Gee, I had no idea! Should I add you to my flist and e'erythin', [livejournal.com profile] _kevinski_?

Mike! From here out you will be (again) known as Mr. P (P for 'pedantic', not 'pitiful', or 'persistent' or any other such) I understand that there are certain points of view concerning ourselves that are not immediately available to us, and I really do appreciate when folks are able to enlighten me to a possibilty that am completely blind to from an intrapersonal perspective, or turn me on to a way of being to which might have taken years to develop without guidance. But, what I do not need is someone with a tourist's involvement in my affairs telling me my business (someone who drops in for a couple of hours a month and who seem to think they've got the solution . . . No! Some who actually thinks they know what concerns me to begin with! Fuck you, and your big ol' hooptey).

Now if anyone would like to school me on what I can do about correctly reporting my 1099 income so that I can finish filing my income taxes, or if you've seen a vocation of mine that sticks to me like a not-so-obvious ketchup stain on my shirt and think it would be an interesting and/or lucrative career choice then, by all means, I'm all ears. You can even preface the suggestion with "you need to", or "you should"! And, should I offer anyone any untoward or unwelcome advice please put me in my place. Because, when I do, it's usually in response to an open-ended gripe that sounds like an experience I might've once had and the proffered hint worked for me - take it or leave it!

BTW, [livejournal.com profile] _kevinski_ you are welcome at Medford . . .

the previously mentioned 'mayor of annandale.' i don't much like him, but he's been around dean's family for years and is off-again, on-again in terms of that relationship. but when we first moved in he was driving past every day, stopping by, hell, he even bought some furniture from a yard sale and brought it over (we have so little room here..) thinking we need it... he's just a very in-your-business kinda dood, comes in one day telling me he's going to solve the ant problem and can i keep the pets inside for a few days, and i was like, well I guess all the research i did on solving the ant problem myself was WASTED and basically told him no, I'd handle it--not the least of which ways being that I tossed a sign up in the kitchen saying "Do Not Feed Pets In This Room" after finding a three-day old plate of dog food crawling with hundreds of odorous house ants. I was so tempted to put the plate on their bed, but given that the person responsible doesn't even live there, i figured all that would do is start them fighting again.

the drama never ends. :D

I just take all my forms with me to HR-Block and have them doing everything right there. Since I've got a bunch of stock dividends, 1099's, IRA's, life long learning credits, etc., it just makes sense to me not worrying about which forms and how to fill them out properly. Each time that I've taken my stuff to HR-Block I've received a refund - granted this is due to the fact that I know I'm not a very good saver of little bits of money here and there so I claim zero for exemptions that way I have a bunch of money to look forward to at tax time. Thus, tax time has always been a fun time for me because I know I get a bunch back.

My father is not a big believer in letting the government have more money than it is due at any point in time, however I just know myself and despite which party (Republican/Democrat) is in office, I know that I've got some funds coming around April time).

It's funny he thought about me in particular. I haven't seen Mike since the last time I saw him around your house.

You sure do seem in a twist about him lately. It's a little strange for me to see you speaking about someone like this... I don't think I've ever seen you do it before. You just never seemed to complain about people. I always thought it was because you basically got along with everyone.

Dunno what to tell you to do. I'd say just be honest, but it seems to be that you've done so and it hasn't made a difference. I presume you'll manage to come to a balance somehow if that's really what you're seeking.

Sorry I haven't been around. I get to drive a truck to Starke, FL (look it up) this Wednesday and I'll be down with the 'gators from Thursday to the 30th. I've been traveling a lot, but I'm really starting think I found my perfect job.

I guess I should update my blog more often... Perhaps from the road. My first overnight layover is at South of the Border in Dillon, SC. Woo Hoo!

Moving to Medford is a wonderful opportunity for all of us to get our shit together but it's also a challenge living together. For whatever reason that place is a focus for whatever disfunction soup d'jour Annandale dishes up, and Mike's compelled to get in there and manage things - for Scott, for me, for anyone who 'treats him like human' as he's fond of saying, as if we have no idea how to manage a house or work together without him. Yeah, it pisses me off after a while. There is nothing documented here that I haven't told him point blank to his face, either. But I guess that's what astounds me so much - what kind of people do you know who leave 7 messages on your voicemail in one night? What kind of people do you know who after you've put it to them politely, and are finally to the point of offending them when you implore them to shut up and mind their own fucking business? And he doesn't see anything wrong with it when I tell him how it aggravates us. H's never seen anything like it, and I guess, coming up around here I always just thought stubborn stupidity was normal. But all in all I don't hold a grudge. He is where he is. . . .

So, who are you driving for?

Yeah... 7 voicemails in one night is crossing the line. I imagine that he doesn't have a whole lot going on right now. He's probably alienated most everyone he knows except you guys, and so he thinks he's found a home.

Sure wish I could offer you some sort of insight. Ignore it? Avoid him? Dunno. If he's really, really bothering you, you'll wind up doing something or other.

I'm still at SyTech, and that's who I'm driving for. I'm delivering something called the JISCC (Joint Incident Site Communications Capability) to the Florida National Guard. I've done this previously for the Kentucky, West Virginia, and South Carolina NG's. I'll update my journal with details rather than go into the harangue here.

Deanski... I'm actually helping to change the world in a terribly necessary way that will potentially save countless lives. It's not just the compensated wanderlust that's great about this job. It's the feeling that I'm helping (in my own small way) to do something really wonderful.
